For the final concert, Eastman's powerful work for 10 cellos The Holy Presence of Joan D'Arc and its introspective companion vocal piece Prelude to The Holy Presence of Joan d'Arc will be performed. Far ahead of their time, these pieces incorporate a much more atonal language into Eastman's minimalist aesthetic. The concert will open with an encore performance of Eastman's "Thruway" and a solo work by NYC based musicians Jeremy Toussaint-Baptiste.

About the Artists:
DAVÓNE TINES, deemed a "…singer of immense power and fervor…” by The LA Times and a “...charismatic, full-voiced bass-baritone...” by The New York Times, commands a broad spectrum of opera and concert performance as a singer and creator. Highlights from last season include performances with the Dutch National Opera, Ojai Music Festival, London Symphony, and LA Philharmonic in collaborations with Kaija Saariaho, John Adams, Matt Aucoin, Caroline Shaw and Peter Sellars. Upcoming performances include engagements with the Finnish National Opera, San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Symphony, Paris Opera, Orchestre national de France, BAM and the American Repertory Theater.
STANFORD THOMPSON is a musician and educator who is passionate about using music for social action and serves as the Founder and Artistic Director for the El Sistema-inspired program, Play On, Philly! and the Chairman of El Sistema USA. He also serves on the boards of the Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Philadelphia chapter of the American Composers Forum, Jubilee School, and as Chairman of The Curtis Institute of Music Alumni Council. He regularly contributes to the communities of TED, League of American Orchestras, and El Sistema-inspired initiatives around the world. Trained as a professional trumpeter, Mr. Thompson has performed and soloed with major orchestras around the world while actively performing chamber music and jazz. Stanford is a native of Atlanta, GA and holds degrees from The Curtis Institute of Music and the New England Conservatory’s Abreu Fellows Program.
Jeremy Toussaint-Baptiste is a Bessie-nominated composer, designer and performer, living and working in Brooklyn, NY. A current Issue Project Room Artist-In-Residence, his work, through the lens of precarious labor, complicates notions of industry, identity, and environment and the implications of the intersections of such phenomena. He has presented at the Brooklyn Museum, Newark Museum, The Public Theater’s Under The Radar, The Studio Museum In Harlem, Bard College, National Sawdust, The Jam Handy, Tanz Im August, American Realness, Knockdown Center, FringeArts, Stoa Cultural Center, MIT, JACK, University Settlement, Harlem Stage, as well as on Dazed Digital, Complex, and Boiler Room.
